My name is John Wittenmyer, and I've been playing the Houston and Austin scene for a while now; my band, Waldo Wittenmyer and the Wall of Sound, which is a folk/punk/indie outfit, have just gotten together and are starting to get the attention of some radio (KVRX 91.7FM) and press (The Daily Texan) as well as having attracted a strong and growing fan base. We are all about good music, with influences ranging from Gogol Bordello to Tom Waits, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Dylan, and the Band. Going to a Wall of Sound show is like playing pattycakes with Jacky Chan. We have several shows lined up: a couple in January, and more to come. Even though we are at an early stage, we see nothing but success in the future, in fact, failure is something that doesn't even enter our minds!
