This group really has some repertoir – I first assumed it was a compilation of several artist. I even loved the third track which just consists of a single sound, although my old lady can’t stand it. Keep it up, I’ll follow you.

Regardless if you feature this music or not, I appreciate what you are doing for music. Keep up the good work. There are mp3’s which you are more than welcome to, as well as photos, on the myspace. Anything you post, I will make sure to make public with my mailing list.

My name is John Wittenmyer, and I’ve been playing the Houston and Austin scene for a while now; my band, Waldo Wittenmyer and the Wall of Sound, which is a folk/punk/indie outfit, have just gotten together and are starting to get the attention of some radio (KVRX 91.7FM) and press (The Daily Texan) as well as having attracted a strong and growing fan base. We are all about good music, with influences ranging from Gogol Bordello to Tom Waits, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Dylan, and the Band. Going to a Wall of Sound show is like playing pattycakes with Jacky Chan. We have several shows lined up: a couple in January, and more to come. Even though we are at an early stage, we see nothing but success in the future, in fact, failure is something that doesn’t even enter our minds! Thanks for the effort you put into the review here – to be honest, I had intentionally neglected the band because of the all the effort that blogs/p4k put into over-promoting Deerhunter… but as I listened to Microcastle today I got the sense that I had done myself a disservice. The back-story was great, as well!
